We are
a thriving FA Charter Standard Club based in Rushden, Northants.
The club was formed in 2001 by Martin Atkinson and Daryl Chambers, both
of whom are still part of the club today. The 2011-12 season sees
the club celebrating it's tenth anniversary.
We have grown year on
year and 2011-12 will be our biggest yet as we field sixteen squads with
ages ranging from our Development Section, for Reception and Year One
pupils, through to the Under 15's, Year Ten pupils and onto the
Veterans.
We field squads in
the Weetabix League from Under 7 to Under 15; the Veterans play in the
Northamptonshire FA Veterans Cup and friendly matches against other
Veteran teams from across Northants. Our Development section is
built around the club principles that football should be fun and it's a
great place for young children to learn the game in an atmosphere they
can thrive.
We train at various
sites in and around Rushden. The details are on the squad pages. Our squads also take advantage of the Astroturf facilities offered at
Wollaston, Wellingborough and Raunds in the Winter. It's still a
poor do that a town the size of Rushden has nothing to offer.

We have high
standards at South Rushden, we try to keep fees low, while keeping
quality high. We are very lucky that the reputation we have built
up over ten years allows us to develop relationships with major
commercial partners, you can see just who has recognised the work we do
on the Sponsors Page.
We insist that all
our coaching staff are CRB checked before they start working with our
players. Our squads are all coached by FA Qualified coaches and we
encourage our coaches to increase their knowledge and thereby enhance
our players footballing experience by keeping qualifications up to date
and attending coaching events, our coaches give their time for this
willingly.
Off the pitch we
became a Community Interest Company in May 2007, this was a big but
important step to take as we continue to strive to meet our long-term
aim of having our own permanent club house and being able to provide the
children of Rushden, and their parents with a safe and affordable place
to develop and enjoy their football.
In January 2012 we announced an historic Community Football partnership
with AFC Rushden & Diamonds, together we are confident that we can
improve football facilities in Rushden and give players a chance to be
part of a Community Football Venture whatever their age and ability.
