7th February 2010 -
Dinamo v Great Doddington
Team: Nathan, Bradley, Ben, Peter, Josh, Sean,
Callum and Kieran.
First Half
After an extended Christmas break due to the
weather, it was good to be back at the OG’s. Dinamo came out meaning
business and within the first minute, Josh opened the scoring making it
1-0. Callum and Bradley kept the pressure on and both had shots. On 5
minutes, Sean stopped a Doddington attack deep in our half and he then
ran the length of the pitch, through the Doddington players, before
calmly putting the ball in the back of the net, 2-0. A minute later,
Bradley connected with Josh who scored his second, 3-0. After only 7
minutes, Josh completed his hat-trick and making the score 4-0.
Doddington continued to battle and succeeding in breaking through and
managed to score, 4-1 on 8 minutes. Dinamo were then put under pressure
and Nathan made a couple of saves. The remaining minutes were mainly
played in mid-field with odd forays into each half.
Half Time score 4-1.
Second Half
Doddington put the pressure on and force an early
corner. Ben picks up and connects with Callum, who passes to Sean, who
in turn finds Kieran, who scores his first goal for Dinamo. Great team
work makes it 5-1 after 5 minutes. Doddington again brings the pressure
to us and they force a number of corners, but the lads are organised and
defend well. On the break, the boys move quickly for the conditions and
after Josh hits the post with his shot, Bradley neatly picks up the
rebound and scores his first for Dinamo. 6-1 on 11 minutes. Doddington
still keep the pressure on and Ben and Peter work well to stop the
attacks. On 14 minutes, Doddington put a good move together and they
scored a good goal, 6-2. In the remaining minute, there is still time
for some more defending by Peter and a save by Nathan. All in all, a
very good start to the year with the boys working hard against an
opposition that didn’t give up. Well done lads and welcome back!
Full Time score 6-2.
Coaches Notes : Very well done boys,
well done to Doddington as well who played better than the scoreline
suggests and were unlucky to come up against a Dinamo side in such fine
form. The first ten minutes especially were absolutely brilliant.
Positives from everyone, especially on such a heavy pitch, it was good
to see the happy if a bit muddy faces afterwards.
