Gladiators Fall To The Generals!
Team
Our first away game of the season took us to a very windy
The first half saw us playing against the wind, the boys didn’t play the
best football they have ever played and let Kettering in with there one
and only chance of the game
and they weren’t about to blow it. With the lads trailing 1-0 they had
to pick there game up, we had a shot that hit the crossbar but we just
could not hit the back of the net. The half finished 1-0.
Surely with the wind (and sun) now behind us we could get back in the
game. Chances came and went with no rewards. Matthew Bland had to make
his own entertainment in goal as the ball never crossed the line into
our half. Try as they might the goal just did not come for them, I think
if we had played another hour it wouldn’t have made any difference, it
was just one of those days. The boys fought hard and a draw would have
been a much fairer result but it just wasn’t to be.
Maybe it was because it was our first away game or the change of the
clocks, change of kit or even maybe the spirits and ghouls of Halloween
were afoot, I really don’t know what happened.
Still we will pick ourselves up and brush ourselves off, ready for next
week, chins up boys that’s just the way football goes.
The man of the match this week goes to Ross for his tough tackling and
defensive organisation well done.
