South Rusden Panthers vs. Great Doddington White
Sat 21st November 2009
Conditions overcast very wet pitch 2
Down in numbers so Lee started with this team
Goalkeeper Henry
Defenders David, Spencer
Midfield/attack Flynn, Louis, Will
Panthers won the toss and kicked off
The game started at a brisk pace and panthers
quickly on the attack with a through ball from David finding Louis whose
shot was saved by the keeper, back at the other end Henry saved 2 shots,
again the panthers back on the attack a good tackle from Flynn who set
up Will who shot narrowly wide, the game was end to end and Doddington
scored a couple of breakaway goals, Spencer with his no messing tackling
was in fine form passed to David who fed a 20 yard ball to Louis who
blasted the ball only a fine save by the Doddington keeper kept the ball
out, a quick one two from Will and David saw David’s shot go just wide,
and then another breakaway and another goal for Doddington the story of
the first half.
Second half saw Oliver replace Spencer and Will
going in goal and Henry going up front,
The Panthers were more like themselves in the
second half with shots from David, Louis and Henry all testing the
keeper, as the panthers pushed forward Doddington broke away and despite
a fine save from Will the rebound was put in.
The Panthers never say die attitude was plain to
see and got their just rewards with David, now in a more forward
position, set Louis up who rifled the ball into the net, the game
continued all in the Doddington half but yet again with some slick
passing another goal, back come the Panthers, David fired in a 20 yard
free kick just wide, Louis running up the wing was causing the Whites of
Doddington loads of problems, then a great move David to Louis back to
David who finds Henry who scored.
Oliver needed to be at his defensive best as
sometimes he was left with 3 men to mark as the Panthers pushed forward,
but as we all know if it moves HAMS will tackle it and he did,
The last few minutes saw shots from David, Louis,
Henry and Flynn but due to some great goalkeeping the Panthers could not
score again, the ref blew the final whistle.
The lads all shook hands and the Doddington boys
knew they had been in a hard match
A great second half performance and the Panthers keep up their proud
record of scoring in every match this season.
Man of the match the whole team
