Panthers vs. Jaguars

Dry - Very heavy pitch

7 long weeks since the last match and the Panthers have a interclub match against the Jaguars, a warm welcome to Tyler and Matthew who join the Panthers squad.

Starting team :
Gk - Tyler
Def Will - Chloe
Mid/Att  - David, Louis, Henry
 
Panthers kick off, but are tackled straight away and the Jags speed up the pitch and score in the 1st minute, another attack from the Jags sees Tyler into the game with a great save, Will and Chloe are working hard as another attack comes from the Jags.

Finally the Panthers get attacking a great run from Louis sets David up whose snap shot from the edge of the area is pushed onto the post by the Jags keeper, a fine run from will sets Henry up whose shot is well saved.

The game is end to end as the Jags attack Chloe’s tackle sets Louis up whose run and shot goes wide.

Another shot from David is well saved by the keeper, back at the other end Tyler pushes a hard shot around the post, another attack from Louis sets Henry up save by the keeper corner to the Panthers.

David takes the corner the ball roles right along the goal line and despite Louis and Henry’s best efforts they just cant get to the ball.

Matthew comes on for David and is straight into the action a superb tackle and then run by Matthew sets Henry up but only a last ditch tackle stops Henry from scoring, another shot from Henry just wide ref blows for half time.
 
Second half starts with Flynn on for Chloe, David on for Henry.

The second half starts at a very fast  pace with the Jaguars fine 4 player passing move only stopped by Will's ferocious tackle, a great run by Flynn wins a corner, David takes the corner and Louis shot is blocked a 6 man melee finally sees the ball being cleared.
 
The Jaguars break up field with some good passing and the ball somehow finds the bottom left corner, Matthew is really getting stuck in and another good move sees him set up Flynn whose shot is blocked, Matthew is replaced by Spencer a great debut by Matthew.
 
Another attack from the Jaguars see a great shot hit the bar, Tyler palms out the shot and then quickly dives at the feet of the Jags striker great goalkeeping.

A quick throw out from Tyler finds Spencer who passes to David whose long pass finds Louis strong run wins another corner.

David’s corner misses every one in the area, Will pops up and puts the ball in the net with nearly the last kick of the game.

The ref blows up for full time, the players off South Rushden Panthers and Jaguars shake hands on what was a very even hard-fought match.
