South Rushden Rebels v Ise Lodge. 08/11/2009.
‘Getting Better all the time’
The boys produced another fine performance this
time against the league leaders. Before today Ise Lodge had scored an
average of 7 goals per game. All the boys worked hard, got stuck in from
the start played some good football and on another day would have been
rewarded.
The squad was:
Ali, Greeny, Matt, Sam, Aidan,
Harry, Reece, Will,
Scott, Ed, Oli.
Subs: Bolts, Lakey, Connor.
The first half was close throughout. Half chances were created at both
ends but defences were generally on top. Our back 4 was looking
particularly strong against their attack, Ali as always looked safe in
goal, Reece produced both good runs and passes, Harry and Will won
tackles and the boys up front also played their part. Right on half time
Ise Lodge took the lead. Again the defence and Ali looked to have
cleared the danger in our box but we could not fully clear our lines.
The ball unfortunately was poked past Ali from close range after he had
made another save as the half time whistle went.
Half Time. Rebels 0-1 Ise Lodge.
The 2nd half was as close as the 1st. Reece made several long runs with
the ball and looked more dangerous as the game went on. Again only half
chances were created. Ali made 1 great save diving at an attackers feet.
Throughout the 2nd half we made several subs as tiredness began to play
apart. With 15 minutes remaining Ise Lodge caught us on the break.
From 1 of our corners we did not deliver it into their box. The ball was
quickly cleared and eventually finished past Ali. Despite some more half
chances the boys could not find a goal they thoroughly deserved.
Full Time. Rebels 0-2 Ise Lodge.
An excellent effort in all areas. The boys continue to improve with
every week and will be rewarded with a positive result. They are growing
stronger as a TEAM both defensively and in attack.
