South Rushden Rhinos V Finedon Vics (28/11/09)
SQUAD:
Michael Childs, Phillip Hughes, Liam Pilcher, William Turner, Scott
Simms, Connor Love, Logan Fisher, Harry Stoner, Harry Richardson, Lewis
Groves.
Another bitterly cold morning was in store for both the teams as well as
the spectators but the Rhinos put in a performance to take everybody’s
mind off the freezing temperatures with a convincing team victory. The
management will be just as happy with the clean sheet as scoring goals
hasn’t been a problem for The Rhinos so far this season.
Harry Richardson took over in goal and was rarely troubled with the
defence and midfield limiting Finedon to few opportunities. With only
two minutes on the clock Lewis Groves opened the scoring with his first
goal of the season, before Finedon could recover and regroup the lead
was immediately doubled by a right foot strike by Scott Simms. The
Rhinos continued to press and carve out chances and it wasn’t long
before Philip Hughes nipped in at the near post to finish off a neat
move on the stroke of half time.
The second half was a repeat of the first half with Harry Richardson
rarely troubled in goal, Liam commanding in defence and the midfield and
forwards interlinking well and creating numerous chances. Connor Love
capped his ‘Man Of The Match’ display with a fine finish before Logan,
Michael and Will Turner all chipped in with goals to complete a well
deserved victory.
Well done lads !!!
